Hello, my name is Téa. I live in the Helsinki area, and I have been running my own business for a long time. I have a M.Sc. in both Technology and Economics, and I currently divide my time as CFO between a couple of software companies. I have three grown-up sons who always love to look at stones through the microscope in my tiny gem lab, and besides gems I love sports and cooking and obviously eating. But let’s get back to gems and jewelry,
A few years ago I had to run down a home renovation business I just couldn’t make work and found myself with some extra time. Somehow I stumbled over diamonds and ended up taking a course with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), a great school and the ultimate authority in the world of gemology.
First I just loved diamonds, but then a fellow student told me colored stones were even more fascinating – and he was right! In the end I did the whole thing, diamonds and colored stones and pearls and all. I took my final exam in New York in the end of 2016 and ever since I’ve been a proud GIA Graduate Gemologist, completing GIA’s continuing education programs and always trying to keep up and learn more. It has taken a few years but I’ve built a network of trusted partners and suppliers. I feel ready to launch my own website, how exciting!
I import jewelry and loose stones and sell directly to my customer base which in the beginning was made up entirely of family and friends but is little by little expanding. I want to keep the overheads down and all of my customers happy and spreading the word.
I’m thinking you heard of me from a friend instead of just stumbling over this website – although the latter would actually be great as well. Regardless of how you found me, I want to give you the best advice and the best deal possible.
My friends are my customers and vice versa – that’s why I always want to make sure they are well educated when it comes to the choices available.
